There are many ways of breaking a heart. Stories were full of hearts broken by love,
but what really broke a heart was taking away its dream - whatever that dream might be.

an edit:

just so you all know. I have not contacted his father to seek any financial help, nor any of his family since the baby was a little over a year. And they haven't contacted me. its going to be interesting.

  1. Sounds a bit like my baby sister's situation. Sucks, but she (and you from what it sounds like) is doing a great job all by herself with a little help from her family.

  2. earle: thanks for that. I remember you telling me about her. give her a big hug and a pat on the back from me. bravo!!!

  3. Interesting is an understatement!

  4. what sucks is that if you went after him for support (which he should offer freely and isnt) you would HAVE to allow him parental rights.

anyhow, you are one good mama and doing an awesome job with your little man.

My best friend raised her daughter for 8 years alone. She struggled at times but her daughter has turned into a beautiful and stable young woman. I have NO DOUBT your little man will grow up into a wonderful man.

all it takes is one good parent like you.

  5. goddess: the sad thing about it is he would probably end up in jail as opposed to giving me any assistance. I really hope is off somewhere taking care of himself so that when it comes time for austin to meet him, he will at least be alive to explain things to him.

Thanks for your support woman. means a lot. :hugs:

  6. I forgot to mention in my last comment that your son is utterly adorable.

Two parents is almost a luxury these days. One great one like you can do the job beautifully.
